Mission Accomplished

Today is my last day working as Tennis Manager at Liverpool Tennis Centre. Over the past three years, we have achieved unprecedented success and I would like to thank everyone who has been part of this journey.

Thinking back to 2014, we have come so far as a tennis facility thanks to the efforts and hard work of everyone involved, including our coaches, off-court staff, players, parents and our partners. We have achieved all of our goals of increasing participation and usage but also our financial targets to help secure the long-term future of the facility.

Our tennis programme has grown from 78 weekly players to almost 500.  We have established one of the largest centre-based tournament programmes in the UK and delivered tennis to over 6,000 children in primary schools across Liverpool.  Our team has grown and we now have a very strong coaching workforce to complement the experienced and knowledgeable off-court staff. We have also been able to attract over £100,000 of external funding to resurface our indoor and outdoor courts, as well as our off-court areas.  This has been a massive team effort with many different people playing their part in the huge success that has taken place.

My time in Liverpool has come to an end and I am now looking forward to my next challenge in tennis, working for HEAD.  I will always look back on my time working in Liverpool with fond memories and feel very lucky to have had the chance to work with so many fantastic people.
